Hebron:Israeli forces have compelled approximately 1,500 Palestinians to leave their homes in the Deir Bahha and al-Jalda areas of Hebron since Friday. Plans are underway to displace an additional 2,500 people in the coming hours as part of an ongoing military operation in the governorate.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the escalation has resulted in the displacement of over 200 families, leaving them homeless. Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin called for urgent international and legal intervention to halt the violations. Efforts are being made to establish a crisis management committee to assist the displaced and those affected.
Israeli forces have intensified military restrictions across Hebron, blocking the junction and main road to the village of Kharsa with earth mounds and concrete blocks. This has hindered access to several villages and communities, as well as closed entrances to al-Arroub refugee camp and various routes to the Bethlehem Governorate. Entrances and roads in southern Hebron have been shut, with some iron gates permanently sealed.
Since Friday, Israeli forces have demolished buildings and commercial shops in the Farsh al-Hawa area, conducted raids and searches in homes, arrested at least 13 Palestinians, and closed access points to the city, villages, towns, and refugee camps. Families have been forced to spend nights outdoors after being evacuated.
On Friday, Israeli forces demolished a residential building with three apartments in Farsh al-Hawa, closing off the area and main entrance, preventing residents and vehicles from entering or leaving. Hebron Mayor Youssef al-Jaabari stated that the displacement plans target about 200 families, covering approximately 350 dunams (35 hectares). Evacuated homes have been marked, and notices have been distributed ordering remaining families to vacate without their vehicles.
