Beit Iksa:Jerusalem Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday, under the protection of Israeli forces.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the incident involved dozens of colonists attacking residents who were working on agricultural land near settlement outposts established on village land. Israeli forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at the olive pickers and detained a resident, Mohammed Sidr, after beating him.
The attack occurred despite prior coordination intended to allow residents access to their land for harvesting olives in the affected areas. Nevertheless, colonists attacked the farmers under the protection of Israeli forces.
Palestinian-owned land around settlement outposts across the occupied West Bank is repeatedly targeted during the olive harvest season. These attacks include assaults on farmers and obstructing their access to their land, threatening their livelihoods and depriving them of their harvests.
