Grand Mufti Issues Fatwa Against Buying Olive Oil from Israeli Colonists

Jerusalem:The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, has issued a religious ruling that forbids the purchase of olive oil and olives acquired from Palestinian trees and sold by Israeli colonists. This ruling, known as a fatwa, emphasizes the prohibition on buying goods that are considered stolen from Palestinian lands.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the Grand Mufti highlighted the significant harm caused by such transactions, noting that they empower the occupiers of Palestinian territories. He urged both official and public sectors to actively reject the sale and purchase of these usurped goods.

The fatwa clarifies that buying stolen property is fundamentally prohibited, as the seller does not legally own the goods or have the right to sell them. Sheikh Hussein warned that purchasing these items not only supports the adversaries but also encourages further land seizures, exploitation of resources, and displacement of Palestinian people.
