Nablus:Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers on Thursday morning while they were harvesting olives in the village of Odla, south of Nablus.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency - WAFA - English, local sources reported that the colonists assaulted farmers in the village's plain area, preventing them from collecting their olive crops.
The start of the olive harvest season has seen an escalation in attacks by colonists on Palestinian farmers, which include assaults, obstruction from accessing their land, theft of crops, and destruction or burning of trees.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that in August, there were 628 colonist attacks in the West Bank, with 137 incidents occurring in the Nablus Governorate. During the first half of 2026, Nablus Governorate experienced 900 attacks, the highest among West Bank governorates.
These attacks, often supported by the Israeli army, have led to the cutting down or damaging of 6,015 trees in the Nablus Governorate during the first half of this year, out of a total of 45,195 trees affected across the West Bank, including 26,395 olive trees.
