Egypt Condemns Israeli Incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem:Egypt condemned the incursion of hundreds of Israeli colonists into Al-Aqsa Mosque, criticizing the provocative acts and rituals performed in its courtyards. These actions were described as violations of the historical and legal status quo at the holy site.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency - WAFA - English, Egypt's Foreign Ministry issued a statement warning of the dangers associated with continued and intensified incursions amid broader colonial activities. The statement highlighted concerns that such practices aim to alter the status quo and impose a new reality at the Al-Aqsa compound.

Egypt emphasized the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo governing holy sites in Jerusalem. It stressed the necessity of safeguarding the religious status of Al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent further escalation.

The statement also warned that repeated violations could exacerbate tensions and threaten security and stability in the occupied Palestinian territory and the broader region.
