Fuqoua: A Palestinian man was shot and wounded on Saturday by Israeli gunfire as residents of Fuqoua, east of Jenin, confronted Israeli settlers attacking Palestinian-owned land in the area.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Barakat Al-Omari, head of the Faqqua Village Council, reported that a group of colonists began grazing their livestock on local lands. This action prompted residents to confront the settlers and attempt to halt the encroachment.
Al-Omari explained that Israeli forces intervened during the confrontation and opened fire at the residents, resulting in one man being wounded in the leg. The area remains tense with ongoing provocations and attacks by the colonists.
He further noted that these attacks form part of persistent efforts to pressure residents and displace them from their lands, which threatens their livelihoods and restricts their access to agricultural fields.
