Kuwait Welcomes Measures Targeting Trade in Settlement Goods

Gaza: Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its approval following the announcement by Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. These nations revealed their intention to adopt national measures or support European restrictions on trade in settlement goods, aligning with international efforts to implement the two-state solution. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Kuwaiti ministry emphasized that these measures come at a time of increasing international momentum, with several countries recognizing the independent State of Palestine. This recognition is viewed as a significant step towards making Palestinian statehood a tangible reality. The ministry highlighted the importance of these measures in addressing Israel's settlement policies, which are considered violations of international law, particularly in light of UN Security Council Resolution 2334. It urged more countries to adopt similar ste ps to bolster these efforts. Furthermore, Kuwait's ministry reiterated its clear stance against the annexation attempts of Palestinian territories and the forced displacement of Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The ministry reaffirmed Kuwait's unwavering support for the rights of the Palestinian people, especially the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital.
