Nablus: Over 130 teachers and kindergarten students are currently stranded in the villages and towns of Qabalan, Talfit, Yatma, Qusra, Al-Sawiya, Jurish, Qaryut, and Jalud due to measures imposed by the Israeli occupation, leading to large-scale army raids in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Samer Al-Jamal, the Director-General of Education in South Nablus, reported that the situation on the ground has made it difficult for many teachers and kindergarten students to safely return to their homes. The Directorate of Education is actively monitoring the situation and is working closely with the governorate, military, and civil liaison authorities, along with other relevant parties, to facilitate their safe passage back home.
Al-Jamal recognized the efforts of village councils, municipalities, and local community groups in these affected areas for their continued support and cooperation with the stranded individuals. He expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by these local entities in assisting teachers and students during these challenging times.
Ensuring the safety of students and teachers remains a primary concern, as emphasized by Al-Jamal. He assured that the directorate is committed to maintaining coordination with various parties to safeguard their return while upholding their safety and dignity.
