Ramallah: The national and Islamic forces of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate have called on Palestinians to participate in events scheduled for next Wednesday in city centers across Palestine, marking the National Day for the Recovery of the Bodies of Martyrs Held in Numbers Cemeteries and Occupation Refrigerators.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, following a meeting on Sunday, the forces urged for international action to hold the occupying state accountable for detaining bodies. Recent reports revealed the occupation admits to holding 1,700 bodies, although estimates suggest the actual figures are much higher.
The forces emphasized that the ongoing actions of the occupation and settlers in the Palestinian territories aim to displace the people, but they affirmed that Palestinians will continue to hold onto their land. They are determined to resist against annexation plans, settlement expansions, and the Judaization of Jerusalem and its surroundings.
The forces called on international organizations, particularly the International Red Cross and human rights institutions, to adopt new approaches to exert pressure for organizing visits to prisoners and to send medical and human rights committees to report their findings publicly.
Additionally, they urged for the protection of prisoners as part of providing immediate international protection for Palestinians amidst rising settler attacks and terrorism. They called for an international stance against the ongoing violence and for measures to halt violations of international law in the occupied territories.
The forces highlighted the need for unified efforts to safeguard resources, protect national rights, and initiate a comprehensive national dialogue. This dialogue aims to rebuild the political system to preserve Palestinian territorial unity and national representation within the Palestine Liberation Organization. They emphasized the importance of confronting occupation plans that seek to create internal discord amidst economic and social challenges, in honor of the martyrs, prisoners, and the wounded in the struggle for national rights.
