Gaza: Israeli colonists on Monday seized a house under construction in the village of Deir Ammar, west of Ramallah, according to local sources. They reported that the villager's house is situated on the western outskirts of the village, adjacent to land recently seized by colonists.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Deir Ammar has experienced repeated attacks by colonists, who aim to capture its land as part of a systematic policy to expand colonial outposts in the area. Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property is frequent in the West Bank and rarely addressed by Israeli authorities.
Colonists' actions include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among other incidents. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, an act that violates international law.
