Colonist’s Incursion Into School Sparks Concerns Over Educational Rights

Ramallah: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has confirmed a significant breach involving a colonist who stormed the grounds of the Silat al-Dahr Basic School for Boys II, which is under the jurisdiction of the Qabatiya Education Directorate. The colonist threatened to shut down the school, a move that directly impacts the educational process.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry highlighted that this incursion is part of a growing trend of violations against educational institutions, including schools and universities. These actions encompass intimidation, harassment, and attempts to enforce conditions that impede students' right to safe access to education.

The Ministry emphasized that the threat to close the school is a grave breach of the sanctity of educational institutions and contravenes the right to education protected by international laws and conventions. It has called upon human rights and international organizations for urgent intervention to halt these violations and ensure accountability for the perpetrators.
