Israel Issues Order to Seize 11 Dunams of Palestinian Land in Masafer Yatta

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces delivered notices on Sunday to seize 11 dunams of Palestinian land in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. Media activist Osama Makhameh reported that the so-called "Planning and Administrative Control Authority," accompanied by military forces, handed the notice to residents. The order targets land located near the 'Avihail' settlement, which was established on Palestinian land around three years ago.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency - WAFA, the settlement has witnessed significant expansion recently, encompassing hundreds of dunams, after Palestinians were expelled and prevented from accessing their adjacent lands. These measures are part of ongoing settlement expansion plans in the area, with Israeli authorities continuing to open new roads adjacent to the settlement in the areas of Al-Rakeez and east of Shaab Al-Batm.

Makhameh also pointed to a previous decision to take control of an old road stretching from Wadi Ma'in toward eastern Shaab Al-Batm. These measures have prevented residents from using the road and caused the fragmentation of a number of population centers in Masafer Yatta, which increases the suffering of the residents and restricts their movement.
