Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces closed the Atara checkpoint and Ein Siniya checkpoint, both located north of Ramallah, on Wednesday morning, blocking the movement of Palestinians. Local sources reported that vehicles were prevented from passing through both checkpoints, while tear gas canisters were fired toward people in the area. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the closures caused hundreds of vehicles to line up, leading to severe traffic congestion and preventing residents from reaching their destinations. Israeli forces also shut the gates leading to the towns of Silwad and Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, in both directions, further restricting movement. The Atara and Ein Siniya checkpoints are key access points linking northern West Bank districts and villages northwest of Ramallah with the city of Ramallah.
