Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday closed an investigation into the death of a Palestinian teenager in Israel's notorious Megiddo Prison, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs and the Palestine Prisoner's Society. They revealed that an Israeli occupation court decided to close the investigation into the case of Walid Khalid Abdullah Ahmad, 17, who died at the end of March in Israeli detention due to starvation.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation authorities alleged that no direct crime was committed in the case of Walid. This conclusion was reached despite autopsy results and testimonies indicating that he died from signs of starvation and health deterioration. The decision has sparked concerns and criticism from various human rights organizations and advocacy groups who highlight the severe conditions faced by Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs, along with the Palestine Prisoner's Society, expressed their disappointment with the court's ruling.
