Rabbi Affixes Altered Torah Scroll to Jerusalem’s Cotton Merchants Gate

Doha: A rabbi affixed an altered Torah scroll to the stones of the Cotton Merchants Gate, also known as Bab al-Qattanin, one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, early Thursday morning.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate stated in a brief statement that the rabbi claimed the act brings blessings and protection. The Governorate highlighted that this is not the first instance of such a violation. Previously, similar scrolls were affixed to the Hebron and Lions' Gates of Jerusalem.
