Gaza: The Italian city of Bologna: witnessed mass protests on Friday evening before the Virtus Bologna vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv game, part of the 12th round of the EuroLeague basketball tournament. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, thousands of protesters gathered in Piazza Maggiore in the city center before the game to express their opposition to the participation of Israeli teams in international sporting events. The protesters held banners reading "Show the red card to Israel," demanding that it be banned from participating in sporting events due to its alleged "genocide against Palestinians" in Gaza. They also chanted "Freedom for Palestine." Similar protests took place in Italy the day before, before the Olimpia Milano vs. Hapoel Tel Aviv game, also part of the EuroLeague basketball tournament, in Milan.
