Gaza: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the dangerous escalation in crimes and terrorism by extremist colonists in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, targeting Palestinian civilians, their property, lands, and holy sites.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the secretariat stated that the attacks, incitement, and organized violence carried out by extremist colonist militias are taking place under the protection and encouragement of Israeli occupation forces. This, they highlighted, is a flagrant violation of international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.
The OIC further noted that the escalating violence is an extension of policies related to annexation, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and genocide carried out by the Israeli occupation across the occupied Palestinian territory. These actions, they warned, are aimed at undermining any opportunity to achieve a two-state solution.
The organization renewed its call on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities. It urged them to take the necessary measures to halt these attacks, to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and to hold those responsible accountable under international criminal law.
