Palestinian Succumbs to Injury from Israeli Fire Near Ramallah

Ramallah: A Palestinian on Tuesday evening succumbed to his injuries in a colonists' attack in al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to the Health Ministry.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Said Murad Na'san, 20, died of his critical injury he sustained earlier after being shot by armed Israeli colonists in the town.

Shortly earlier this evening, Amin Aby Alya, head of the Village Council, said that armed Israeli colonists, protected by the occupation forces, attacked a public park in the southeastern part of the village, firing at civilians and injuring five. He added that one of the casualties, identified later as Na'san, sustained a gunshot injury to the chest and was in a critical condition.

Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Colonists' violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
