Gaza City: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that life-saving humanitarian aid stuck in warehouses outside the Gaza Strip is at risk of spoilage due to Israel's closure of the crossings and its denial of entry since March 2, in a continuation of the genocide it has been perpetrating for 19 months.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the UN agency stated in a post on its Facebook page that humanitarian aid, including food, hygiene supplies, medicines, and shelter materials, remains trapped outside the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing blockade. The agency expressed concerns that this vital aid is in jeopardy of going to waste with the closure of the crossings, emphasizing the urgency of the situation with the phrase: "Food that people cannot eat, medicines that they cannot use."
UNRWA confirmed that its teams and trucks are prepared to deliver aid to those in dire need within Gaza. The statement highlights the severe impact of the blockade on the delivery of essential supplies necessary for the survival and well-being of the people in the region.
