Gaza: UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric stated last night that the UN's humanitarian aid operations in Gaza can only be conducted in accordance with the principles of humanity, neutrality, and independence. He was responding to reports about Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz's remarks at a Security Cabinet meeting, where Katz suggested that aid in Gaza would be distributed by the military or American companies. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Dujarric highlighted that food supplies are "dangerously low" throughout Gaza, with cases of malnutrition rising rapidly. He stressed that living conditions in the region are "appalling," with 75 percent of the population exposed to open sewage and waste, leading to severe health issues. Dujarric urged influential member states to take necessary actions to ensure the resumption of humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of adhering to international humanitarian principles to effectively address the critical needs of the affected population.
