Jenin: At least 12 Palestinian residents were killed and nearly 40 others injured during the ongoing onslaught on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the third consecutive day, amidst massive destruction to the infrastructure and local properties.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, earlier this morning, Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinian residents identified as Qutaiba Shalabi, 30, and Muhammad Nazzal, 25, from the town of Qabatiya, after a siege on a house they were in, in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin. The occupation further held the bodies of the two Palestinians.
The initial death toll since the onset of the aggression has surged to 12, bringing the number of martyrs during the three days of aggression to 12, with nearly 40 others injured. The occupation forces imposed a tight siege on the Jenin camp and closed its entrances, forcing the residents of Mahyoub Street and some of the camp’s neighborhoods to leave their homes and forcibly leave the camp, via one road towards the western entrance to the camp, known as Wadi Burqin Road. Additionally, Israeli drones continue to fly in the skies of the camp, threatening citizens through loudspeakers and dropping leaflets.
The occupation soldiers installed devices to recognize eye and facial prints, forced the residents to pass through them, and detained several young men during the onslaught. The occupation forces also launched a large-scale detention campaign in the camp, which affected a large number of citizens.
The occupation bulldozers destroyed the main street of Jenin Governmental Hospital and closed its entrances with dirt mounds, which made it almost impossible to transport the wounded and sick people. They also imposed a tight siege on Al-Razi and Ibn Sina hospitals. The occupation forces sent their military reinforcements accompanied by “D10” bulldozers to the city, where they were stationed on Haifa Street.
In the town of Qabatiya, a special force stormed the town and surrounded a house, while the occupation forces raided and searched several houses and rounded up three Palestinians. The occupation forces began their aggression on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp last Tuesday.
