Gaza: A young Palestinian from Jenin City succumbed to wounds he had sustained after being shot by Israeli occupation forces over three years ago.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Hani Farahati shared that his nephew, Ashraf Mahmoud Najib Farahati, aged 19, died from a gunshot wound to the head. This injury was inflicted by Israeli occupation forces during an incident on March 16, 2023, which also resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians, Nidal Khazem and Youssef Shreim. Additionally, a third Palestinian, Omar Awadin, was killed, and 18 others were injured on that day.

Farahati had been battling these injuries for an extended period, receiving medical treatment in both Palestine and Jordan. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead on Monday due to his injuries. His case, along with incidents involving two other Palestinian children, was documented by Defense for Children International - Palestine in 2023.

Funeral arrangements for Farahati will take place once his body arrives from Jordan, anticipated on Tuesday. He will then be laid to rest at a cemetery located in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin.
