Weather Alert: Significant Temperature Drop and Rain Expected Across Palestine

Ramallah: The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) announced that a significant drop in temperature and scattered rain showers are expected, as the weather on Wednesday turns partly cloudy and pleasantly spring-like, aligning with the annual average temperatures.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, starting in the evening, a low-pressure cold front accompanied by a cold air mass will gradually affect the country, bringing scattered rain showers to some areas. Winds will shift to westerly to northwesterly, ranging from moderate to active, while sea waves are anticipated to be moderate.

As the evening progresses into night hours, the weather will shift to partly cloudy to cloudy, with temperatures turning cold to very cold and scattered showers expected in most areas. Westerly winds will become active, with occasional strong gusts reaching speeds of approximately 60 km/h, resulting in wavy sea conditions.

The cold front’s impact will persist into Thursday, maintaining generally
cloudy and cold to very cold weather conditions. There will be a notable temperature drop, with readings falling 5-6 degrees Celsius below the annual average, accompanied by scattered rain showers across most regions.

On Friday, the low-pressure cold front will continue to influence the country, leading to persistent cloudy and cold to very cold weather. A slight further decline in temperatures is expected, with scattered rain showers continuing across most areas.

By Saturday, the weather will remain cold to very cold, although temperatures are expected to rise slightly. There will be a slight chance of scattered light rain in some areas during the morning.

The PMD has issued a warning to the public during this period of low-pressure cold front, highlighting the significant temperature drop, potential risk of slippery roads in rainfall-affected areas, poor horizontal visibility, and strong winds.
