Gaza:Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein al-Sheikh has expressed support for the International Committee of the Red Cross's appeal for urgent protection of Palestinians, citing ongoing policies and actions that he characterized as ethnic cleansing and terrorism.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency - WAFA - English, al-Sheikh, in a statement on Thursday, urged the global community to take decisive steps to ensure international protection for Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The ICRC highlighted the adverse impacts of increasing violence, movement restrictions, and settlement expansion in the West Bank. These issues have severely affected civilians, hindered patients' healthcare access, disrupted students' education, and isolated residents from their homes and livelihoods.
The ICRC emphasized the need for civilian protection, adherence to international humanitarian law, cessation of violence, and a halt to settlement expansion.
