Accra:Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh has criticized Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar's statements regarding democracy in Palestine and the postponement of legislative elections, describing them as misleading and deceitful.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, al-Sheikh emphasized that the Israeli occupation is responsible for obstructing the Palestinian democratic process. He cited ongoing violence and measures imposed by Israel as major impediments to Palestinian democracy.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening, al-Sheikh argued that those responsible for the violence and aggression against Palestinians should not speak about concern for Palestinian democracy or offer advice on the matter. He further stated that Israeli policies and escalating violence are significant barriers to the realization of Palestinian national and democratic rights.
