Uzbek President Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Statehood at Tashkent Forum

Tashkent: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reiterated his country's firm and principled support for the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state, during the opening of the Fourth Tashkent International Investment Forum.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in his address at the forum, which runs from June 9 to 12 in the Uzbek capital, President Mirziyoyev condemned the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. He emphasized that there is no justification for the death of innocent people in the 21st century and asserted that the only viable solution is a just settlement based on international law and United Nations resolutions. The President expressed firm support for the Palestinian right to statehood and called for an end to the conflict in Gaza.

The State of Palestine was represented at the forum by its Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Jawad Awad, who participated alongside heads of state, prime ministers, and senior officials from various countries and international organizations. The forum primarily focused on investment opportunities across key sectors including green energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, strategic resource development, project financing, legal coordination, and regional integration.
