Gaza: A Palestinian woman and her 10-year-old child were injured on Monday evening in an attack carried out by colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, on the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, a local official reported.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Head of the Village Council, Sayel Kanaan, stated that colonists attacked an agricultural room east of the village and assaulted a woman in her 50s with clubs and stones, resulting in a head injury and bruises. Additionally, the colonists used pepper spray on her 10-year-old child, causing him to experience suffocation.
The attack extended to a house in the eastern part of the village, where colonists assaulted the women and children inside and vandalized the property's contents. However, no injuries were reported from this particular incident.
Kanaan further mentioned that soldiers, armed and ostensibly providing protection for the colonists, stormed the area and detained several young men who were in the vicinity of the attacked home. In a related incident, colonists attempted to set fire to a vehicle graveyard and a sheep pen from the western side of the village.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC), the occupying forces and colonist militias conducted 2,256 attacks against Palestinian civilians and their property during July 2026. Out of these, the occupation forces were responsible for 1,458 attacks, while colonist militias executed 798. The CWRC reported that these attacks were primarily concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, and Hebron.
The commission highlighted that these figures illustrate the coordination between the occupation forces and colonist militias, as the occupation army provides protection, support, and an enabling environment for these attacks, thereby entrenching their consequences on the ground.
