New York: The UN General Assembly (UNGA) has decided to resume a high-level international conference on the two-state solution on September 22. This decision revives a process that was previously put on hold due to escalating violence in the Middle East.
According to Nam News Network, the assembly adopted an oral decision proposed by Saudi Arabia. This decision pertains to the resumption of the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
Following the adoption of the oral decision, both the Israeli regime and the United States declared their disassociation from it. They expressed concerns that resuming the conference could prolong the conflict in Gaza and potentially embolden Hamas.
