Shaqra: Two Lebanese citizens were injured today when Israeli occupation artillery shelled the town of Shaqra in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, while Israeli military vehicles advanced toward the outskirts of the border towns of Deir Mimas and Hadatha.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Israeli shelling of the Shaqra area resulted in injuries to two people, who were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The report indicated that one of the shells landed in Wadi Nahla on the outskirts of Shaqra.
In Deir Mimas, NNA detailed that Israeli occupation forces had raided the outskirts of the town, conducting searches of several homes and deploying stun grenades. The Israeli forces also resumed shelling activities in the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, with the sound of bombardment resonating in the city of Tyre and various other southern towns and villages. Several shells struck Wadi al-Azziya, adding to the tension in the region.
Overnight, Israeli forces had fired illumination flares over the areas of Hadatha and Aita al-Jabal in the Bint Jbeil district, amid ongoing military activities and shelling across parts of southern Lebanon. This escalation is part of a broader pattern of military movements in the region.
Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health released its latest statistics, highlighting that the death toll from Israeli attacks between March 2 and September 17 had reached 4,386, with 12,407 injured. The cumulative toll since October 8, 2023, was reported to be 8,953 killed and 30,643 injured, underscoring the severe impact of the ongoing conflict.
