Bethlehem: Three Palestinians were wounded by gunfire from Israeli colonists on Saturday during an attack on the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bethlehem.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the head of the Al-Minya village council, Zayed Kawazba, reported that a group of armed colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked residents in the vicinity of the village. The colonists opened fire directly on the residents, wounding three in their lower extremities. The injured were subsequently taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Kawazba added that the colonists also grazed their livestock among the olive trees, which is seen as an act aimed at displacing the residents and seizing their lands adjacent to the settlements established in the area. He noted that Israeli forces were present at the scene and provided protection for the colonists, exacerbating tension and fear among local residents.
The village of Al-Minya is subjected to frequent attacks by colonists, including land incursions, destruction of trees, and restrictions preventing farmers from accessing their land.
