Gaza: Several Palestinians were killed and others wounded on Sunday evening when Israeli occupation forces bombed a tent in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. WAFA correspondent reported that seven citizens lost their lives and others were injured after Israeli warplanes targeted a tent sheltering displaced persons in Hamad City, north of Khan Yunis Governorate.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local health authorities have confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has reached 52,243 fatalities, with an additional 117,639 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are reported to be women and children.
Further reports indicate that the death toll has risen to 1,783 since Israel resumed its attacks on March 18, following a two-month truce. Additionally, 4,683 people have been injured in this period. Emergency services continue to face challenges in reaching many casualties and recovering bodies trapped under debris or scattered across the war-torn region, as Israeli forces persist in targeting ambulance and civil defense crews.
The ongoing conflict remains intense despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent further bloodshed and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
