Moscow: The Middle East is facing a growing crisis due to what has been described as Israel's aggressive militaristic policies, exacerbated by the support of the United States, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Lavrov made these remarks during an interview with the Rossiiskaya Gazeta daily, highlighting a deteriorating situation in the region. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Lavrov emphasized that Israel's approach, which prioritizes its security at the expense of others, is unsustainable. He expressed concerns that the ongoing support from the United States in monopolizing the mediation process, while neglecting United Nations Security Council decisions, is further complicating the situation. The minister warned that this dynamic could damage Israel's relations with the Islamic world for many years. Lavrov suggested that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is crucial for stabilizing the Middle East, including Lebanon. He advocated for the creation of con ditions conducive to achieving a two-state solution as a means to move beyond the current phase of violence. Lavrov underscored the importance of empowering countries within the region to play a central role, rather than allowing external powers to dictate terms and conditions.
