Gaza:West Bank: The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) reported an increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank for August 2026. The index reached 120.76, marking a 0.14% rise compared to July 2026, with the base year set at 2013.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency WAFA, the cost of renting equipment saw a significant increase of 0.87%, while raw material prices went up by 0.17%. Labor costs and wages, however, remained unchanged during this period.
For non-residential buildings, the CCI rose to 119.54, a 0.12% increase from the previous month. Equipment rental and raw material prices increased by 0.74% and 0.16%, respectively, with stable labor costs and wages.
Skeleton buildings in the West Bank experienced a similar trend, with the CCI rising to 118.50, up by 0.12%. Equipment rental surged by 0.86%, and raw materials saw a 0.14% increase, while labor costs and wages did not change.
The Road Cost Index (RCI) climbed to 125.65, a 0.74% increase. This was primarily driven by a 10.04% rise in equipment operating and maintenance costs, a 0.81% increase in equipment rental, and a 0.47% rise in raw material prices. Labor costs and wages remained steady.
In contrast, the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.24% to 132.12. The Water Networks Cost Index specifically fell by 0.41% to 139.28, while the Water Reservoirs Cost Index increased by 0.20% to 116.37.
The Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank rose to 119.96, experiencing a 0.21% increase in August 2026 compared to July 2026.
