Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation against the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and accompanying colonists. This event, which occurred under the protection of Israeli occupation police, has been described by Qatar as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws and an unacceptable provocation for millions of Muslims globally.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement today emphasizing that Al-Aqsa Mosque is solely a place of worship for Muslims. It declared that any unilateral actions attempting to alter the current historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem and its sacred sites are considered null and void under international law.
The ministry expressed concern that such violations and provocations could perpetuate cycles of violence and instability in the region. It urged the international community to take immediate action to pressure Israel into ceasing its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, and to adhere to relevant international resolutions.
Furthermore, the ministry reiterated Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people. It emphasized the necessity of ending the occupation and enabling Palestinians to exercise their legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
