Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation regarding the initiation of demolition operations by the Israeli occupation authorities inside the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) complex, located in occupied Jerusalem. This move, which involved the participation of the Israeli Minister of National Security, has been described by Qatar as a violation of international humanitarian law and a direct challenge to global consensus.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement highlighting concerns over what it perceives as a systematic targeting of UNRWA by Israeli authorities. The statement warned that such actions aim to dismantle the Agency, thereby depriving millions of Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon of essential services provided by UNRWA.
The statement from Qatar further emphasized the need for the international community to take responsibility and act decisively against these measures by Israel. It called for a firm confrontation of what Qatar sees as illegal actions, urging global actors to uphold international humanitarian standards and protect the rights and services afforded to Palestinian refugees.
