Gaza city: The Ministry of Public Works and Housing said it is continuing its response and rescue efforts following the collapse of a residential building in Gaza City.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ministry said its teams are coordinating with international partners, municipalities, and relevant authorities to provide machinery and equipment to help remove rubble, clear roads, and reach affected areas. These efforts support ongoing rescue operations to save those trapped and recover the bodies of the deceased.
The ministry warned of the dangerous humanitarian and field conditions in the Gaza Strip, with more than 2,000 damaged buildings at risk of collapse. The presence of piles of rubble and difficulties in accessing certain areas presents a growing risk to the lives of citizens, especially as winter approaches.
The ministry emphasized that addressing these risks requires heavy machinery and equipment, as well as fuel and necessary materials. This will enable specialized teams to remove rubble, clear roads, assess damage, and address the risks posed by damaged buildings. Additionally, they continue to provide temporary shelter solutions for displaced and affected families.
