According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Prince of Monaco, Prince Albert II, officially recognized Palestine as an independent and sovereign state. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the two-state solution for regional stability, stating that peace should not remain a distant dream. President Abbas lauded Monaco's decision, noting its significance in progressing toward a just and lasting peace in accordance with international resolutions.
In addition, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela declared his nation's recognition of Palestinian statehood. He underscored Malta's support for the Palestinian Authority's vision of a unified governance system. President Abbas welcomed this gesture, reiterating the call for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and an end to violence in Gaza.
Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, also joined the list of leaders recognizing Palestinian sovereignty.
