Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas received a phone call from Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, congratulating him on the overwhelming majority vote at the UN General Assembly to adopt the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State solution.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Lebanese Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for this achievement, stating it strengthens the Palestinian cause on the international stage, paves the way for the implementation of a two-state solution, and opens the door for further international recognition of the State of Palestine.
Salam also praised the successful handover of the fourth batch of weapons from the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, in line with the agreement reached between President Abbas and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
Both leaders emphasized during the call the importance of continued coordination and joint cooperation for the benefit of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and to enhance security and stability in the region.
