President Abbas Meets Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace in Ramallah

Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas received the Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP), Mae Elise Cannon, and her accompanying delegation at the Presidential Headquarters. The meeting underscored the organization's commitment to justice and peace, particularly in support of Palestinian rights and the Christian community in the Holy Land.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Abbas welcomed the delegation and praised CMEP's continuous support for Palestinian rights. He highlighted the importance of the organization's role in strengthening the steadfastness of Christians in the region. The discussion included updates on the latest political developments and ongoing violations against holy sites, as well as Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip.

Rev. Mae Elise Cannon reaffirmed CMEP's dedication to achieving peace and justice in the Middle East and alleviating Palestinian suffering. She specifically mentioned the recent escalation affecting the Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza, emphasizing the need for bolstering the resilience of Palestinian Christians.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Ramzi Khoury of the Palestine Liberation Organization and members of the Presidential Committee, Musa Hadid and Amira Hanania. The visit is part of CMEP's broader efforts to enhance solidarity with Palestinians and support their legitimate rights.
