President Abbas Joins Other Leaders at Grand Egyptian Museum Opening


Cairo: President Mahmoud Abbas attended the grand opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, other world leaders, and prominent figures from around the globe.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, President Abbas commended Egypt’s historical contributions to humanity and the significance of its ancient civilization. He highlighted the Grand Egyptian Museum as a new global landmark that showcases the splendor of Egypt’s heritage and its influential role in culture, history, and humanity.



During the event, President Abbas expressed gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people for their efforts in realizing this cultural project, which he described as Egypt’s gift to the world and a source of pride for Arabs.



President Abbas emphasized the inauguration as a testament to Egypt’s dedication to preserving its heritage, fostering a prosperous present, and shaping a promising future. He also reaffirmed the strong ties between the Palestinian and Egyptian peoples and expressed Palestine’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Egypt across various fields.
