President Abbas Calls for Global Solidarity and Action Against Israeli Occupation, Demands Suspension of Israel’s UN Membership.

Riyadh: President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas said today that the Arab and Islamic duty requires us to show the highest levels of solidarity and cooperation, in light of the failure of the international community to stop the aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Abbas, in his speech before the Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh, emphasized that the crimes of the occupation necessitate collective efforts to implement Security Council Resolution 2735. This resolution calls for halting aggression, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and rejecting plans to separate it from the West Bank.

He urged Arab and Islamic countries to push the Security Council and the General Assembly to suspend Israel’s UN membership unless it complies with international law and ends its offenses against the Palestinian people. Abbas also encouraged countries worldwide to reassess thei
r relations with Israel, discouraging normalization given its non-compliance with international law and accusations of genocide and targeting UNRWA.

Furthermore, Abbas called for the end of occupation and settlement activities within a year, in line with the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. He urged summit leaders to protect Jerusalem, support its people, and maintain the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian sanctities there.

He highlighted the importance of supporting the international coalition to recognize the State of Palestine, secure its full UN membership, and implement the Arab Peace Initiative. This includes mobilizing international support to strengthen Palestinian unity and resilience.

Abbas called for pressure on the occupation government to release funds, provide financial security, and support UNRWA in continuing its mission in Palestine. He mentioned ongoing efforts to establish mechanisms, committees, and agencies for managing the Gaza Strip under the
State of Palestine and the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The President expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their efforts and for hosting the summit, as well as appreciation for the supportive positions of brotherly leaders towards the Palestinian people.
