MOSCOW: Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein al-Sheikh discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy to the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov the outcomes of President Mahmoud Abbas's official visit to Russia, which confirmed Russian support for Palestinian positions and the cessation of Israeli attacks in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Al-Sheikh added in a post on X today, that President Putin's decision to invite Palestine to participate in the BRICS summit next October in the Russian city of Kazan was also discussed, and Moscow's positions in the United Nations and international institutions was emphasized. In turn, Bogdanov stressed the importance of Palestinian reconciliation, through Palestinian legitimacy and its reference, the Palestine Liberation Organization, stressing that this is Russia's fixed and permanent position.
