PCBS Reports Significant Increase in Building Licenses in Palestine for Q3 2025

Ramallah: A report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) has revealed a notable increase in the issuance of building licenses in Palestine during the third quarter of 2025 compared to previous periods.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the total number of building licenses issued in the third quarter of 2025 saw a 33% increase compared to the second quarter of the same year. Additionally, there was a 13% rise when compared to the third quarter of 2024. The report highlights that the number of new building licenses also rose significantly by 36% from the previous quarter and by 39% from the third quarter of the previous year.

In total, 2,184 building licenses were issued during this period, with 1,452 of these being for new buildings. The area covered by licensed buildings, both residential and non-residential, amounted to 1,033 thousand square meters. Of this, 869 thousand square meters were attributed to new constructions, while existing structures accounted for 164 thousand square meters.

The report further detailed that the total number of licensed dwellings reached 4,437, covering an area of 736 thousand square meters. Out of these, 3,809 were new dwellings occupying 626 thousand square meters, whereas 628 were existing dwellings covering 110 thousand square meters. The increase in new dwellings in the third quarter of 2025 was 28% higher than the second quarter and 32% higher than the same quarter in 2024.
