Gilboa:Palestinian prisoner Qusay Elayyan, from the occupied Jerusalem town of Issawiya, is facing severe health challenges while incarcerated in Israel's Gilboa prison, where he is serving a 14-and-a-half-year sentence.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Elayyan has been held since December 14, 2021. He suffers from a lung condition, asthma, and breathing difficulties, has lost 16 kilograms, and has boils covering parts of his body.
Elayyan described to his lawyer the extremely difficult conditions in Gilboa prison, highlighting severe overcrowding that compels some prisoners to sleep on the floor due to lack of space.
He also reported that the food provided is inadequate in both quantity and quality, failing to meet prisoners' nutritional needs and leading to widespread weight loss among inmates.
Furthermore, Elayyan mentioned that prisoners are prohibited from communicating with detainees held in other rooms, adding to the challenges they face.
