Palestinian Presidency Blames Israel for Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Gaza:The Palestinian Presidency has accused Israeli occupation authorities of being fully responsible for the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The situation has worsened amid ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade, with the onset of winter bringing rainwater floods that have left displaced families without safe shelter, heating, or basic necessities.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the Presidency's statement emphasized that the humanitarian suffering and deprivation of Palestinians are directly caused by Israel's aggressive policies. These include obstructing humanitarian and relief aid deliveries and failing to comply with the UN Security Council resolution and US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan for Gaza.

The Presidency urged the international community to take immediate and effective action to alleviate the suffering. It also criticized the Board of Peace and its envoy, Nikolay Mladenov, for not taking measures to stop Israeli violations and ensuring Israel meets its obligations. The Presidency warned that ignoring these violations could exacerbate Palestinian suffering and hinder stability efforts.

Furthermore, the Presidency called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by taking steps to halt Israeli violations, compel Israel to honor its commitments, and ensure the unrestricted entry of humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance into Gaza. It also stressed the need for international protection for Palestinians, highlighting the urgency of securing their basic needs and ending their humanitarian suffering.
