Khan younis: A Palestinian man was killed and a child was critically injured when Israeli forces targeted a house in Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces have persisted in conducting airstrikes, artillery shelling, and naval bombardments across several areas of the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire agreement that was supposed to take effect on October 11. The ongoing hostilities have led to an increase in casualties and damage, with the latest strike adding to the toll.
In addition to the attack in Khan Younis, Israeli warplanes launched missile strikes on several locations east of the Tuffah neighborhood, which is situated east of Gaza City. The Israeli navy also engaged in aggressive actions by firing heavy machine guns and shells along the Gaza City coastline. These actions are part of a broader pattern of intermittent artillery shelling reported in the northwestern regions of the Gaza Strip.
In the southern region, Israeli fighter jets executed an airstrike east of Khan Younis. This was coupled with naval forces opening fire along the coast and artillery shelling targeting the city's eastern areas. The ongoing military operations have significantly impacted the local population and infrastructure.
The recent escalation has raised the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire to 636, with 1,704 individuals wounded and 753 bodies recovered, highlighting the severe humanitarian toll on the region.
