Gaza: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Friday rejected misleading narratives promoted by Israeli authorities at political, military, and colonial levels to justify crimes against Palestinians and portray the perpetrator as the victim.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ministry stated that these narratives are being used to justify imposing further closures and sieges on Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps. The ministry highlighted the fragmentation of these areas through military checkpoints, restriction of movement routes, acceleration of colonial outpost legalization, and the expansion and establishment of new colonies.
The ministry expressed concerns over escalating attempts, particularly amid the Israeli election atmosphere, to exploit genocidal rhetoric and incitement by Israeli politicians. These actions have been turning Palestinian suffering into a tool for political and electoral gains, boosting the popularity of the far right.
Inflammatory statements by senior Israeli government officials and attempts to mislead international public opinion were cited as part of an official discourse used to justify crimes against Palestinians. This discourse creates a political and media environment for expanding aggression and advancing plans of genocide and forced displacement in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The ministry emphasized that the advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice affirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. It called for an end to the occupation without delay, dismantling of colonies, and halting illegal colonial presence in accordance with international law.
It added that it continues to coordinate with Palestinian embassies and missions to mobilize international pressure against Israeli aggression, occupation policies, and colonist terrorism. The ministry also urged holding those responsible for crimes and violations accountable.
The ministry called on the international community and its institutions to take urgent action to provide international protection for Palestinians. It urged the adoption of deterrent measures to stop colonist terrorism and prevent Israeli government plans aimed at destroying and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people.
