Gaza: The Palestinian Ambassador to China, Jawad Awad, delivered a written message from President Mahmoud Abbas to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. The meeting took place with Gao Biao, Deputy Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the message highlighted the urgent need for international intervention to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression and colonist terrorism against Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Gao Biao expressed gratitude to Ambassador Awad for conveying President Abbas's message, emphasizing the strong relationship between the two leaders, which has elevated bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Gao Biao reiterated China's condemnation of the attacks by colonists against Palestinian civilians and affirmed China's firm and principled stance on supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He emphasized that the two-state solution, in line with international law, remains the only path to a just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue. Ambassador Awad conveyed the message amid escalating Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including settler attacks on civilians, killings, land seizures, and the establishment of additional settlement outposts. These actions, he warned, threaten regional stability and the prospects of a two-state solution. Ambassador Awad called for an end to Israeli aggression, a halt to settlement activity, and the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions. He urged for international protection for Palestinians and stressed the importance of Israel respecting its obligations under international law. He also highlighted the deep historical and strategic relations between Palestine and China, appreciating China's steadfast support for Palestinian rights. Awad commende d China's political, humanitarian, and developmental assistance to Palestine, including a $100 million aid initiative by President Xi Jinping. Awad briefed the Chinese side on Israel's illegal withholding of approximately $5 billion in Palestinian tax revenues, exacerbating the financial crisis and affecting vital sectors like health and education. He also informed them about President Abbas's decision to hold Palestinian legislative elections on November 28th, aiming to renew democratic legitimacy and unify Palestinian ranks. Ambassador Awad affirmed Palestine's support for the One China principle and praised China's role on the international stage, supporting initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative.
