Accra:The State of Palestine has requested an extraordinary session of the League of Arab States Council, aiming to convene at the level of permanent representatives as soon as possible. The session is intended to explore mechanisms for providing international protection to the Palestinian people and ensuring respect for international law and resolutions regarding Jerusalem's legal status.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency – WAFA, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Arab League, indicated that the session will discuss avenues for Arab and international action in response to escalating attacks by Israeli occupation forces and armed settlers against Palestinians and their properties. These actions are reportedly supported by the occupation government and its military.
Al-Aklouk highlighted that these attacks are part of a systematic policy aimed at displacing Palestinian communities, expanding colonial settlements, and undermining the two-state solution. The meeting will also address violations concerning the city of Jerusalem and its international legal status, especially in light of decisions by certain countries to open embassies in the city.
