On Behalf of President Abbas, Vice President al-Sheikh Lays Wreath at Arafat’s Tomb on Fatah Anniversary

Ramallah: On behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh laid a wreath of flowers on Thursday, at the tomb of the late leader Yasser Arafat at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah. This solemn act marked the 61st anniversary of the launch of the modern Palestinian revolution and the founding of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah).

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ceremony underscored the ongoing significance of Yasser Arafat's legacy in Palestinian history and the continued commitment of the Palestinian leadership to uphold the values and objectives that he embodied. The anniversary serves as a reminder of the pivotal moments in the struggle for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign state.

The event at the Presidential Headquarters was symbolic of the respect and reverence held for Arafat, who remains a central figure in the Palestinian narrative.
